Vishal Kumaraswamy will host a discussion on the presence of Rhythms in the works of Lena Heubusch and Neale Willis.
Drawing on the presence of Hype-Men in early hip-hop, the open dialogue will be punctuated with the acoustic rhythmic movements of the performers in the space.
Participatory Sound and Drawing event ‘Drawing Sound’ by Lynda Beckett
Using Ultra Violet market pens, participants will have the opportunity to create and experience a visual response to the pre-recorded soundscape. For this, sections of NINES’ event space will be covered with wall paper and the results become part of the final installation.
The original concept (‘Drawing Music’ was devised for Tate Modern – Switch House at the beginning of January 2017)
Akin to a gallery exhibition, the installation will be open to the public over the course of 2 hours, allowing visitors to roam freely within the constantly altering space. Expect surprise pop-up performances followed by a party set by intergenerational DJ DUO DUC & DUCHESS from Paris.
Hope to see you there!
