Come and explore the techniques in writing and performing improv and character comedy with Alison Thea Skot. 


This 3-hour workshop is an introduction to the basic skills of character comedy and improvisation. Discover exercises that can help access your comedic voice and where to start when looking for inspiration for characters. We will combine this with an introduction to the foundations of Long Form Improvisation. Discover how the two styles can work together to help you find your comedic style and create joyful, exciting work. 

Alison is a critically acclaimed actor, comedian and improviser. Her recent character comedy shows ‘Some Like It Thea-Skot’ and ‘It’s Thea-Skot in Here (So Take Off All Your Clothes)’ were 5-star smash hits at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and transferred to the Soho Theatre in London. 
She has been selected as part of The Observer's Female Millennial's Changing Comedy, The Telegraph's Best of the Fringe, London Is Funny's Top 13 Edinburgh Shows to See, Funny Women’s Ones to Watch, Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of the Fringe and can be heard on several BBC Radio 4 sketch shows. 
Alongside her solo work she is a member of 5-star improv super group The Free Association. She also guest improvises with Chortle award winners Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel. 
She has led Character Comedy and Long Form Improvisation workshops for Soho Theatre, The Free Association and Funny Women.
