Point of Reference is back and excited to present the second in their series of late night parties at the NINES
Point of Reference (POR) is a blog run by a like-minded collective of music fans who endeavor to curate the finest selections of tracks, new and old, far and wide, to satisfy listeners’ thirst for high quality sounds.
POR does not confine itself to genres but ones that feature prominently are House, Techno, Funk, Soul and Disco as well as an array of international selections.
After the success of Point of Reference's party in March, they are now extremely excited to announce the October party line up.
None other than British Disco deity & Million Dollar Disco head honcho, Al Kent will be headlining the night. He will be taking us into the early hours with songs ranging from obscure disco, to bona-fide classics. Despite his reputation as a digger and his background in rare soul and disco, Al is no musical snob when it comes to DJing. Al's sound is big and bad, when we say this man is one of the finest disco DJ's to have ever graced the stage we are not exaggerating!
Church & Wolf Music Recordings golden boy Ishmael will be taking us in to the night drawing from a vast and varied collection of Afro, Soul & Boogie records, guaranteed to also play the unexpected. With a terrific LP 'Somewhere in Space' and 2 other EP 's to his name in 2016 he is very much a name on people's lips and this Bristol-Native is very much on a steep trajectory towards becoming one of the scene's biggest names.
